THE GREAT JUBILEE
"Reflections" regarding the INTRODUCTION ( continued ) ~~
Prayer ~~ "Come Holy Spirit, come by means of the powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Your well-beloved spouse."
THE GREAT JUBILEE
HAD BEEN A YEAR of GREAT HOPE
and this GREAT HOPE continues into this present day!
The Church's greatest celebration in its 2000 year existence was the Great Jubilee. It officially began on the eve of Christmas 1999 when Pope John Paul II "opened" the "Holy Door" at St. Peter's Basilica, which had been closed for approximately 50 years. The door remained "open" until the Vigil of the Epiphany of the Lord on January 6, 2001.
We may be asking ourselves, "What was the significance of this?"
Our Lady of Guadalupe, sweet "Mother of Hope,"
once again, gently takes our hand and smiles, as if to say to us, 'Come'~~
~~ She leads us to a beautiful door. It is locked and we are unable to enter without a "key."
"Where is the 'key'?" , we ask ourselves. With much enthusiasm we begin to search for it. Just when we are about to "give up", we discover that we have had the key all along!
We carefully open the "door" and a "magnificent light", gleaming from the distance, beckons us to come!
As we journey closer and closer to the "light," our hearts and souls begin to fill with an incomparable PEACE, LOVE AND JOY!
"Living Jesus Christ!" (Jo
The "key" that unlocks the door is
"REPENTANCE" AND "CONVERSION"
Are we going to pretend that we do not have the key ~~
do we have the "strength"
to put it into the lock and turn it?
Put mouse pointer over
THE GREAT JUBILEE
WAS GRANTED to us AS A YEAR of REPENTANCE
and this invitation for our REPENTANCE continues into this present day!
REPENTANCE ~~ As we make a conscious effort to "turn a key" in order to unlock a door, so must we make a conscious effort to "repent." When we begin to examine our consciences in the "light of truth" and not in the "darkness of rationalism," we start to realize that we have all sinned against God , Our Loving Father.
Because God is Love and we have been "made in His image and likeness" (Genesis 1:26-27), we have been made to be loved and to love!
The revealing "light of truth" has allowed us to see clearly that we have been "selfish" and are guilty of keeping that love to ourselves! Suddenly we begin to understand that if we continue to keep all the love that we receive and do not share it with others, there is "less and less" room in our hearts to be loved.
In order for the love to be "alive", we must keep it moving!
As we receive Love, we must give it to others ~~ As there is a "pouring-in" of love, there should be a constant "flowing-out".
It is not a recycling of love, but a constant supply of New Love!
We may think of our hearts as being like a "pool" of water and "love" being the water that fills the pool. If the pool is continually being filled with fresh water, and has an outlet by which the water may leave, the water is constantly moving. The pool is sweet-smelling and supports new, beautiful growth around it.
On the other hand, if the pool is not being supplied with "new water" and has no place for it to go, the water becomes stagnant, foul-smelling, and may only allow "weeds" to grow.
AND SO IT IS WITH LOVE!
In the last century we have seen, that for many, love has been allowed to become stagnant in our hearts!
THE GREAT JUBILEE
HAS BEEN A YEAR OF GREAT MERCY
and this gift of GREAT MERCY continues into this present day!
It is a time for all of us to return to the Sacrament of Reconciliation ( Penance or Sacramental Confession ). After having "repented" by being truly sorry for our sins, NOW is the time to RETURN TO THE HOUSE OF THE FATHER! ~~ "And the son said to him: Father, I have sinned against Heaven, and before thee, I am not worthy to be called thy son ..... And the father said to his servants: ... let us eat and make merry: Because this my son was dead, and is come to life again: was lost, and is found ... and he said to him: Son, thou art always with me, and all I have is thine." ( Luke 15:21-31 )
and Forgiveness of our sins
is truly a manifestation of His Great Love for us!
Everyone is deserving of God's Mercy and Forgiveness!
GREAT JUBILEE HAS BEEN A YEAR FOR
and this grace of CONVERSION continues INTO THIS PRESENT DAY!
CONVERSION ~~ After true repentance, a TRANSFORMATION will take place ~~a conversion of our hearts and minds!
For the last 101 years, the entire world has been living in an immense desert of a "culture of death" because "love received," has not been "given." This past century has seen more human death through the killing of the "unborn", religious and ethnic persecutions and world-wide territorial wars than in all the previous 19 centuries put together.
Our Lady asks us, "Is this not a world "starving" for "love?"
This "dark plague of death", that has overshadowed the previous century, had been firmly "PLANTED" by people with self-fulfilling motives ~~ people whose love had become stagnant.
It has been continually "FED" by uncontrolled egoism and selfishness.
It has been diligently "WATERED" by the very contagious "self-talk" that does not reflect a "giving love," but only of a love that is received and kept to oneself.
When we open
the door, the "magnificent light" that gleams
from the distance, beckoning us ~~ to Come!
It is the Love of God The Father!
He is waiting on the other side of the "Door" [Who is the "Living Jesus Christ!"] in order to hand each and everyone of us our INHERITANCE which is Heaven.
Do we deserve that inheritance just because we are His sons and daughters? If we allow ourselves to "SEE" only the obscured truth that is revealed through the dim light of self-love, we will say, "Yes! I deserve that inheritance!"
If we examine our hearts and souls in the "honesty of TRUTH" and allow ourselves to "SEE" through the clear light of "self-giving" and "true love", we will say, "No! not unless I have earned it!"
What do we have to do in order to be able to receive our inheritance,
the place that the Father has prepared for each one of us in Heaven? ( John 14:2-3/6-7)
With much love and concern,
Our Lady wraps us in her Motherly arms and pleads with us "as if" to say,
'THIS IS YOUR INHERITANCE ~~
THE PLACE THAT YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER HAS PREPARED FOR YOU AND THAT MY SON, JESUS CHRIST, HAS EARNED FOR YOU!
Would you allow a brother or sister to "steal" an inheritance of property or money left to you from a loving mortal father?

Do not allow Satan with his lies and deceit, to ROB you of your rightful inheritance.
The spilling of my Son's precious blood has purchased for you the rewards of Eternal Life.
By His Saving Death and Resurrection my Son has made available to all humankind, the grace, blessings and help that you need to attain your "eternal " destiny. Remember, God still respects your "free will". Therefore, for you to obtain your INHERITANCE, you need to use the means that He has established whereby you are able to obtain the necessary graces for salvation.
These means include 1) keeping The Commandments of God, 2) frequent reception of the Sacraments, 3) joining together in the worship of God, and 4) practice of the greatest of all the virtues ~~ Love of God and love and concern for one's neighbor!'
"The Woman Clothed with the Sun and the Moon Under Her Feet" has lead us to the DOOR, Who is JESUS THE CHRIST!
way of the "powerful
we are able to
"OPEN THE DOOR!"
With Faith, Hope and Love, we are able to walk across its threshold.
courage, we shall be able to
"FOLLOW THE LIGHT TO THE FATHER!"
What is the INHERITANCE that God has prepared for us as His children? ~~
It is a life that knows no suffering!
It is a life that knows no death!
It is a life that is filled with unimaginable peace and joy!
It is a life that knows no end!
BECAUSE IT KNOWS ONLY LOVE!
LET US ASK OURSELVES ~~
ARE WE WORTHY OF OUR INHERITANCE?
