Acts - Chapter 8, verse 15 ~ Who, when they were come, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost.

Chapter 9, verses 1-16 ~ And Saul, as yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest, and asked of him letters to Damascus, to the synagogues:  that if he found any men and women of this way, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.  And as he went on his journey, it came to pass that he drew nigh to Damascus; and suddenly a light from Heaven shined round about him.  And falling on the ground, he heard a voice saying to him:  Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?  Who said Who art thou, Lord?  And he:  I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.  It is hard for thee to kick against the goad. And he trembling and astonished, said:  Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?  And the Lord said to him:  Arise, and go into the city, and there it shall be told thee what thou must do.  Now the men who went in company with him, stood amazed, hearing indeed a voice, but seeing no man.  And Saul arose from the ground; and when his eyes were opened, he saw nothing But they leading him by the hands, brought him to Damascus.  And he was there three days, without sight, and he did neither eat nor drink.  Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias.  And the Lord said to him in a vision:  Ananias, and he said:  Behold I am here, Lord.  And the Lord said to him:  Arise, and go into the street that is called Strait, and seek in the house of Judas, one named Saul of Tarsus.  For behold the prayeth.  And he saw a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hands upon him, that he might receive his sight.  But Ananias answered:  Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints in Jerusalem.  And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that invoke thy name.  And the Lord said to him:  Go thy way; for this man is to me a vessel of election, to carry My name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel.  For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. { Saul became known as the great Apostle, St. Paul }


1 Corinthians - Chapter 2, verse 9 ~ But, as it is written:  That eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath it entered into the heart of man, what things God hath prepared for them that love Him.

Chapter 9, verse 16 ~  For if I preach the gospel, it is no glory to me, for a necessity lieth upon me: for woe is unto me if I preach not the gospel.

Chapter 11, verse 1 ~ "Be ye followers of me, as I also am of Christ."

verses 27-29 ~ Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice { blood } of the Lord unworthily shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord.  But let a man prove himself:  and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of the chalice.  For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgement to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord.


2 Corinthians - Chapter 1, verses 21-22 ~ Now He that confirmeth us with you in Christ, and that hath anointed us, is God:  Who { God } also hath sealed us, and given the pledge of the Spirit in our hearts.

Chapter 1, verses 22-23 ~ That He {God the Father} hath subjected all things under His feet, and hath made Him head over all the Church, which is His body, and the fullness of Him who is filled all in all.

Galatians - Chapter 4, verses 4-7 ~ But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent his Son, made of a woman, made under the law:  That He might redeem them who were under the law:  that we might receive the adoption of sonsAnd because you are sons, God hath sent the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying:  Abba, Father.  Therefore now he is { you are } not a servant, but a son.  And if a son, an heir also through God.

Chapter 1, verse 26 ~ And He { God } said:  Let us { the Blessed Trinity } make man to our image and likeness:  and let him have dominion over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and the beasts, and the whole earth, and every creeping creature that moveth upon the earth.

Chapter 1, verse 27 ~ And God created man to His own image:  to the image of God He created him:  male and female he created them. 

        Chapter 17, verses 2-5 ~ {God said to Abram (Abraham)} "And I will make my covenant between Me and thee:  and I will multiply thee exceedingly.  Abram fell flat on his face.  And God said to him: 
AM, and My covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father, of many nations.  Neither shall thy name be called any more Abram:  but thou shalt be called Abraham:  because I have made thee a father of many nations."    


Isaiah - Chapter 7, verses 10-14 ~ And the Lord spoke again to Achaz, saying:  Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God, either unto the depth of hell, or unto the height above.  And Achaz said:  I will not ask, and I will not tempt the Lord.  And he said:  Hear ye therefore, O house of David:  Is it a small thing for you to be grievous to men, that you are grievous to my God also?  Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign.  Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son and his name shall be called Emmanuel.


James - Chapter 5, verses 14-15 ~ Is any man sick among you?  Let him bring in the priests of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.  And the prayer of faith shall save the sick man:  and the Lord shall raise him up:  and if he be in sins, they shall be forgiven him.


John - Chapter 3, verse 19 ~ And this is the judgment:  because the light { Jesus } is come into the world, and men loved darkness { sin } rather than the light:  for their works were evil.

Chapter 4, verses 7-42 ~ There cometh a woman of Samaria, to draw water.  Jesus saith to her:  Give me to drink.  For His disciples were gone into the city to buy meats.  Then that Samaritan woman saith to Him:  How dost thou, being a Jew, ask of me to drink, who am a Samaritan woman?  For the Jews do not communicate with the Samaritans.  Jesus answered, and said to her: If thou didst know the gift of God, and who He is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou perhaps wouldst have asked of Him, and He would have given thee living water.  The woman saith to Him:  Sir, thou hast nothing wherein to draw, and the well is deep; from whence then hast thou living water?  Art thou greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children and his cattle?  Jesus answered, and said to her:  Whosoever drinketh of this water, shall thirst again; but he that shall drink of the water that I will give him, shall not thirst for ever:  But the water that I will give him, shall become in him a fountain of water, springing up into life everlasting.  The woman saith to Him:  Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come hither to draw.  Jesus saith to her:  Go, call thy husband , and come hither.  The woman answered, and said:  I have no husband.  Jesus said to her:  Thou hast said well, I have no husband:  For thou hast had five husbands:  and he whom thou now hast, is not thy husband.  This thou hast said truly.  The woman saith to Him:  Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.  Our fathers adored on this mountain, and you say, that at Jerusalem is the place where men must adore.  Jesus saith to her:  Woman, believe me, that the hour cometh, when you shall neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, adore the Father.  You adore that which you know not:  We adore that which We know; for salvation is of the Jews.  But the hour cometh, and now is when the true adorers shall adore the Father in spirit and in truth.  For the Father also seeketh such to adore Him.  God is a spirit; and they that adore Him, must adore him in spirit and in truth.  The woman saith to Him:  I know that the Messias   {Messiah} cometh (Who is called Christ); therefore, when He is come, He will tell us all things.  Jesus saith to her:  I am He, Who am speaking with thee.  And immediately His disciples came; and they wondered that He talked with the woman.  Yet no man said:  What seekest thou? or why talkest thou with her?  The woman therefore left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men there:  Come, and see a Man who has told me all things whatsoever I have done.  Is not He the Christ?

Chapter 6, verses 54-59 ~ Then Jesus said to them:  Amen, amen I say unto you:  Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, you shall not have life:  and I will raise him up in the last day.  For My flesh is meat indeed:  and My blood is drink indeed.  He that eateth My flesh, and drinketh My Blood, abideth in Me and I in him.  As the living Father hath sent Me and I live by the Father; so he that eateth Me, the same also shall live by Me.  This is bread that came down from Heaven.  Not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead.  He that eateth this bread, shall live forever.   

Chapter 10, verse 9 I { Jesus } am the Door.  By Me, if any man enter in, he shall be saved: and he shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture.

Chapter 14, verses 2-3 ~ In My Father's house { Heaven } there are many mansions.  If not, I would have told you:  because I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I shall go, and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will take you to Myself; that where I am you also may be { Heaven }.  

Chapter 14, verses 6-7 ~ Jesus saith to him { Thomas } , I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life.  No man cometh to the Father but by Me.  If you had known Me, you would without doubt have known My Father also:  and from henceforth you shall know Him, and you have seen Him {because we have "known" and "seen" Jesus}.  

Chapter 20, verses 12-18 ~ And she { Mary Magdalene } saw two angels in white, sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been laid.  They say to her:  Woman, why weepest thou?  She saith to them:  because they have taken away my Lord; and I know not where they have laid him.  When she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing; and she knew not that it was Jesus.  Jesus saith to her:  Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou?  She, thinking that it was the gardener, saith to Him:  Sir, if thou hast taken him hence, tell me where thou hast laid Him, and I will take Him away.  Jesus saith to her:  Mary.  She turning, saith to Him:  Rabboni (which is to say, Master).  Jesus saith to her:  Do not touch me, for I am not yet ascended to My Father.  But go to My brethren, and say to them:  I ascend to My Father and to your Father, to My God and your God.  Mary Magdalen cometh, and telleth the disciples:  I have seen the Lord, and these things He said to me.

Chapter 20, verses 21-23 ~ He said therefore to them { the Apostles } again:  Peace be to you.  As the Father hath sent me, I also send you.  When He had said this, He breathed on them; and He said to them:  Receive ye the Holy Ghost { Holy Spirit }. Verse 23Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.


1st John - Chapter 1, verse 8 ~ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  Verse 10 ~ If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him { Jesus } a liar, and his word is not in us.

Chapter 3, verse 17 ~ He that hath the substance of this world, and shall see his brother in need, and shall shut up his bowels from him:  How doth the charity of God abide in him? 


Luke - Chapter 1, verses 39-48 ~ And Mary rising up in those days, went into the hill country with haste into a city of Juda.  And she entered into the house of Zachary, and saluted Elizabeth { Mary's very elderly cousin who was 6 months pregnant with the child who was to be St. John The Baptist }.  And it came to pass, that when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the infant { the child who was to be St. John the Baptist } leaped in her womb.  And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:  And she cried out with a loud voice, and said: Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.  And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?  For behold as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy.  And blessed art thou that hast believed, because those things shall be accomplished that were spoken to thee by the Lord.  

verse 46 ~ And Mary said:  My soul doth magnify the Lord. 

verse 47-48 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.  Because He hath regarded the humility of his handmaid; for behold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

Chapter 15, verse 21 ~ And the son { the exceedingly wasteful son } said to him:  Father, I have sinned against Heaven, and before thee, I am not now worthy to be called thy son.  Verse 31 ~ But he  {the father } said to him:  Son thou art always with me, and all I have is thine.

Chapter 19, verses 1-10 ~ And entering in, he walked through Jericho.  And behold, there was a man named Zacheus, who was the chief of the publicans, and he was rich.  And he sought to see Jesus who he was, and he could not for the crowd, because he was low of stature.  And running before, he climbed up into a sycamore tree, that he might see him; for He was to pass that way.  And when Jesus was come to the place, looking up, He saw him, and said to him:  Zacheus, make haste and come down; for this day I must abide in thy house.  And he made haste and came down; and received him with joy.  And when all saw it, they murmured, saying, that He was gone to be a guest with a man that was a sinner.  But Zacheus standing, said to the Lord:  Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have wronged any man of anything, I restore him four-fold.  Jesus said to him:  This day is salvation come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.  For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. 

Chapter 24, verses 25-35 ~ Then He { Jesus } said to them:  O foolish, and slow of heart to believe in all things which the prophets have spoken.  Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and so to enter into His glory?  And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded to them in all the scriptures, the things that were concerning Him.  And they drew nigh to the town, whither they were going:  and He made as though He would go farther.  But they constrained Him; saying:  Stay with us, because it is towards evening, and the day is now far spent.  And He went in with them. And it came to pass, whilst He was at table with them, He took bread, and blessed, and broke, and gave to them.  And their eyes were opened, and they knew Him:  and He vanished out of their sight.  And they said one to the other:  Was not our heart burning within us, whilst He spoke on the way, and opened to us the scriptures?  And rising up, the same hour, they went back to Jerusalem:  and they found the eleven gathered together, and those that were with them, Saying:  The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.  And they told what things were done on the way; and how they knew Him in the breaking of the bread.


Mark - Chapter 12, verses 29-31 ~ And Jesus answered him { the scribe } : The first commandment of all is, Hear, O Israel: the Lord thy God is one God.  And thou shalt love the Lord thy God, with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind, and with thy whole strength.  This is the first commandment.  And the second is like to it:  Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  There is no other commandment greater than these.


Matthew - Chapter 5, verses 23-24 ~ If therefore thou offer thy gift at the altar, and there thou remember that thy brother hath anything against thee;  Leave there thy offering { gift } before the altar, and go first to be reconciled to thy brother:  and then coming thou shalt offer thy gift.

Chapter 6, verse 41 ~ Watch ye, and pray that ye enter not into temptationThe spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh weak.

Chapter 7, verse 7 ~ Ask, and it shall be given you:  seek, and you shall find:  knock, and it shall be opened to you.

Chapter 7, verses 13-14 ~ Enter ye { you } in at the narrow gate { the entrance to Heaven }: for wide is the gate { the entrance to Hell }, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat.  How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life { Heaven }:  and few there are that find it!

Chapter 16, verse 18 ~And I say to thee:  That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.

Chapter 19, verse 4 ~"Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of Heaven." 

Chapter 19, verses 5-6 ~ For this cause { marriage } shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they two shall be in one flesh.  Therefore now they are not two, but one flesh.  What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder.

Chapter 25, verse 33-34 ~ And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left.  Then shall the king say to them that shall be on his right hand:  Come, ye blessed of my Father, possess you the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.   

Chapter 25, verses 35-40 ~ For I was hungry, and you gave Me to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me to drink; I was a stranger, and you took Me in:  Naked, and you covered Me:  sick, and you visited Me:  I was in prison, and you came to Me.  Then shall the just answer him, saying:  Lord, when did we see Thee hungry, and fed Thee; thirsty, and gave Thee drink?  And when did we see Thee a stranger, and took Thee in? or naked, and covered Thee?  Or when did we see Thee sick or in prison , and came to Thee?  And the king  answering, shall say to them:  Amen I say to you, as long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to Me.

Chapter 26, verses 26-28 ~ And whilst they were at supper, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and broke: and gave to his disciples, and said:  Take ye, and eat.  This is My body.  And taking the chalice, He gave thanks, and gave to them, saying: Drink ye all of this.  For this is My blood of the new testament, which shall be shed for many unto remission of sins.

Chapter 26, verse 51-52 ~ And behold one of them that were with Jesus, stretching forth his hand, drew out his sword:  and striking the servant of the high priest, cut off his ear.  

verse 52 ~~  Then Jesus saith to him:  Put up again thy sword into its place:  for all that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

Chapter 28, verses 18-19 ~ And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying:  All power is given to Me in heaven and in earth.  Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost { Holy Spirit }.

Romans {St. Paul's Letter to the Romans} - Chapter 13, verse 11 ~ And that knowing the season; that it is now the hour for us to rise from sleep.  For now our salvation is nearer than when we believed.

1st Thessalonians - Chapter 2, verse 14 ~ Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle.

1 Timothy - Chapter 3, verse 15 ~ But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the Church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
