Chapter Text
Enterprise suddenly woke up in a large room with many comfy chairs. [Shouldn't she have woken up in her quarters at the Azur Lane Joint Base?] she wondered. Puzzled and disorientated, she looked around, and saw that the room she appeared in seemed to be like a theater? Although there were many sofas in the room with various tables of food from different nations in the back area, tea and crumpets from the Royal Navy, BBQ from her own country Eagle Union, and bento boxes from the Sakura Empire, instead of the many rows of seats found in a regular one. She also notes that there are many blankets and pillows on the sofas (of various firmness/plushness). A moment later, Yorktown, Hornet, and Vestal also appeared, and quite disorientated.
"Yo Enterprise, any idea on how we got here?" Hornet asks.
"Beats me, I just got here a second ago," Enterprise replies.
"Can someone please explain why we are here? Enterprise, did you do something reckless to end up...wherever here is!?!" Vestal exasperatedly demands, aware of Enterprise's self sacrificing/reckless tendencies.
"No...I appeared just the same as you did," Enterprise responds.
Answering Vestal's question calmly, ??? says: "I will in a minute, I have some other viewers to collect." Suddenly, Hiryuu, Soryuu, Kaga, Akagi and Belfast pop into existence, turning on the spot and looking around, trying to get a bearing on where they were.
"Grey Ghost I will get you this time! You will NOT stand in the way of my love for MY SISTER!" Akagi screams as she sees Enterprise in her sights and attempts to charge her. Thankfully, she is held back by her sister Kaga, Hiryuu, and Soryuu. Enterprise stares at her warily while slowly backing away from her in a defensive stance, almost as if she was expecting her to attack Yorktown, Hornet, or herself. Clearly, she is wary of conflict, but has resigned herself to it, seeing no way out.
"Akagi! Calm Down Right Now! I brought you all here to react to a movie that attempts to accurately depict the first six months of World War 2 in the Pacific through the Battle of Midway." ??? exclaims.
"Excuse me miss, but who are you?" Belfast politely asks with all of the elegance of a Royal Maid, having just spotted her among everyone else in the crowd. Suddenly, everyone else turned their attention to her, having not noticed her with all of the commotion with Akagi and Enterprise.
"My name is Enterprise, hull number CVN-80," E begins. Immediately chaos breaks out. Everyone is shouting and demanding answers. From what can be made out, Akagi is trying to attack E while Kaga, Hiryuu, and Soryuu are holding Akagi back.
Calmly, she stares back and says, "Come at me bro." as if to taunt her to try. This only pisses her off further and she renews her efforts to no avail while Hornet and Yorktown stare dumbly at her, shocked that there are multiple versions of their sister. Enterprise stares at her, wondering why in the world a shipgirl would want to even have a legacy to her. Unfazed, she began to continue.
"Yes, I am really Enterprise. Grandma, you survived the war and were eventually sold for scrap because the people who wanted to preserve you as a museum ship couldn't raise enough money. Your daughter, USS Enterprise CVN-65 was built with some of your steel, including one of your portholes in the Captain's Quarters. Some of the steel from mom and you, grandma are going into me: your granddaughter. Although I don't have rigging yet because I have not been completely constructed, I am a shipgirl because most of my construction is complete," she says.
"You all are in the 21st century in a modern movie theater. Please grab some food and drinks at the back of the room and have a seat. Keep it civil please, no fighting. I am NOT the same Enterprise that you know, so I will not attack you," she explains, with the last part directed at the Sakura Empire girls. "I can answer any questions you have about me, so ask anytime. There is food in the back and blankets with pillows on one of the side walls. If there are no questions for me right now, please grab some food, take a seat, and enjoy the show. By the way, call me E."
As everyone goes and grabs food of their choice: Akagi, Kaga, Hiryuu, and Soryuu getting bento boxes; Enterprise getting Tropical Chocolate Ration Bars; Yorktown and Hornet getting BBQ ribs; and Belfast getting tea and crumpets. When everyone gets their food, Yorktown; Enterprise; Hornet; and Belfast sit down together on the plushy couch at the front. Akagi and Kaga sit on the bean bag chairs on the side of the theater, and Hiryuu and Soryuu sit on the sofa in the back.
"One last thing, the movie will pause every time you speak. So, don't worry about missing anything," She says. With everyone comfy and cozy, the screen lights up and the movie begins.
